Does plucking your armpit hair increases the chance of getting breast cancer?

Not that any one knows of to the best of my knowledge no one has ever checked this thought out.
But since it is not caused by hair on or not on the skin and since
extra cells in the breast tissue that causes tumors causes cancer.
I would say if you want to pluck you pits go for it. But I don’t ever want
my pits plucked I will shave it thank you. Besides after doing chemo
you loose so much hair that is one place I don’t have much hair any
    way.
Please understand it is when you get a extra cell that is out of control
that is in a area like breast or lung or any part that is when it mutates
    into the cancer cells.
I hope your mom did not tell you that plucking your arm pit hair will
cause breast cancer. But you did the right thing by asking others
who have had it or are nurses or doctors.
Any time you have a health question your best bet is to ask questions
about it not reilly on myth or legends ok. You did good by asking.
I hope you never get cancer ever.

This is not currently considered to increase your risk.
That doesn’t mean it can’t cause breast cancer (although I would think it highly unlikely) just that no-one has done a study that shows it does.

  3. Andrew Says:

    It shouldn’t..
Cancer is the over-development and production of cells.. causing tumors and bad stuff like that.
Plucking armpit hair won’t cause your breasts to get cancer.

If you are one of those people who get ingrown hairs a lot when you pluck or shave. It would seem that it may be a significant contributor.
