In Dec. my son was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. My son doesn’t have insurance either. The doctor he is with is on a sliding scale. He will be going to the hospital where they will sit down with him about the medical bills. There are programs out there to help.
My mom has lung cancer, and she makes payments for her doctor bills and they are fine with that.
So don’t let that stop you from going to the doctor.

As the previous posters have said, if you’re in college, go to your health clinic and show them the area that you’re worried about. The doctor can either help relieve your mind or will find a dermatologist who will work out some type of payment plan in exchange for treatment. You can also go to your local free clinic for some advice as well. They will help you find a dermatologist who will treat you for free or for a reduced price. Skin cancer is not something that you want to wait around on. You need to have the area excised as soon as possible.
If you’re in high school, visit your school nurse who can also recommend a dermatologist who is willing to work with a patient who doesn’t have insurance. There are options out there if you are willing to look for them. Good luck.

You sound genuinely worried. I don’t know of any dermatologist who would turn you away. Try calling one in your area, and explain t he dilemma to whomever answers the phone. If they’re reluctant to help you themselves, they will certainly be able to refer you to a service without cost. Remember, doctors still take the Hippocratic Oath or the Declaration of Geneva when they join the profession, which allows NO consideration to intervene between the the doctor and his duty of healing. Most mean it wholeheartedly. Take care of yourself, and good luck.

If you are a student, go to the school nurse and let her look at it.
If you are not a student, call your county health department and tell them what you have told us.
It is much more likely that you have a fungal infection or a patch of severely dry skin…I know because I recently went to a dermatologist for a weird thing on my leg.
It is very unlikely that a young person would have skin cancer.

Every county has a free health clinic. Go there. If you are in school, see the school nurse and see what they say. Skin cancer in non-adults is pretty rare.
